Downtown Nashville

You can't come to Nashville without experiencing Broadway. There are 27 bars on Broadway, each providing a different experience. If you're looking for an authentic Honky Tonk, we recommend Robert's Western World (our personal favorite!). Arrive early, grab a table, order the Recession Special (fried bologna sandwich, chips, a moon pie and a PBR for $6) and listen to some amazing live music. For any Johnny Cash fans, we highly recommend visiting the Johnny Cash Museum.

East Nashville

We love East Nashville! There are so many cool bars, boutiques, breweries and coffee shops. We recommend just walking around the Five Points area for the full experience. East Nashville is home to some of the best dive bars around. We recommend Dino's, Ernie's or Lakeside Lounge for a dive bar experience. For a less dive-y but still very cool bar, check out Tiger Bar (a 1930's circus themed bar) and Rosemary and the Beauty Queen.

The Parthenon

Did you know that Nashville has a full size replica of The Parthenon in the middle of the city? If you're looking for a nice leisurely walk, head to Centennial Park where you can stroll through and see The Parthenon (you can go in for a small fee), or sit in one of the many swings throughout the park to people watch. It's a beautiful park if you need a break for all the bars and live music.

If you're looking for more outdoor activies, we highly recommend visiting Shelby Bottoms Greenway. You can rent an e-bike anywhere in East Nashville and bike over to Shelby Bottoms. The 950-acre Shelby Bottoms Greenway has about 17 miles of unpaved and paved pathways (perfect for strolling and biking) that pass through wetlands, streams, forests and fields.

Germantown

We love the Germantown neighborhood of Nashville! In fact, it was where we lived when we first moved here. The cobble stone streets, the historic brick buildings, the quaint cafes. It's beautiful and we highly recommend visiting. Grab a coffee at the Red Bicycle Cafe, or lunch at Germantown Cafe and just stroll the streets, or hit up Mother's Ruin for a happy hour cocktail!

There is the Nashville Farmer's Market, which is an open-air market that is open 365 days a year, the Tennessee State Museum (which is free) and has multiple exhibits that give a thorough history of the state. We also recommend walking through Bi-Centennial Capitol Mall State Park to get a great view of the State Capitol Building. Climb the stairs to the Capitol if you need a good workout!

Printers Alley

Printer's Alley is one of our favorite spots for a night on the town. It's located right behind Broadway and has some pretty cool dive bars and jazz clubs. Head to Fleet Street Pub, which is an underground British pub (complete with pub food and pints), or Skull's Rainbow Room for some live jazz or a late-night burlesque show on the weekends. Bourbon Street Blues is a Mardi Gras-themed bar that features live music seven days a week. You can't go wrong at Printer's Alley!

12 South

If you need a shopping day, head to the neighborhood of 12 South! You'll find so many boutiques, ice cream, coffee and donut shops (definitely stop by Five Daughters bakery for a donut!), and bars and restaurants. For Reese Witherspoon fans, head to her store Draper James for some shopping, or if you're a Southern Charm fan, go pillow shopping at Sewing Down South!

The Gulch

Another little pocket of Nashville we love is called The Gulch. It's close to downtown, so it would be a great place to stay. Check out The Pub, a classic English pub, for a basket of fish & chips and a pint. You'll also find the Nashville wings mural (don't be surprised if you see a line of tourists waiting to take a photo). It's also home to Rudy's Jazz Room. If you want to feel like you're in La La Land, head here. (Ryan Gosling not included).
